Physiotherapy Without Referral in Amsterdam
At Fysiotherapie Middenweg you can go directly to a physiotherapist, without a referral from your GP or specialist. This is called Direct Access Physiotherapy (DTF). Because you come without a referral, the intake is slightly different. First, the physiotherapist checks whether your complaint is suitable for physiotherapy treatment. This is called the screening.
The Screening
The screening takes about 10 minutes. During this short conversation the physiotherapist has a signalling and advising role. It consists of:
-
registration and your main question
-
a short βred flagβ check (safe/not safe)
-
information and advice based on the findings
Further Examination or Advice
If no particular issues are found, the physiotherapist decides whether further physical examination is necessary. In some cases, clear advice is enough. If treatment is recommended, this will be discussed with you immediately.
Report for Your GP
After the consultation, the results of the screening and any additional examination are documented. With your permission, a written report is sent to your GP.
